Forest Pokémon
#254
The leaves growing on Sceptile's body are very sharp edged. This Pokémon is very agile - it leaps all over the branches of trees and jumps on its foe from above or behind.
Plush
Sceptile Pokedoll
2004 USA Obtained from an online Pokemon Center NY order One of my childhood Pokedolls, obtained in a set with Blaziken and Swampert. Sceptile's first and only plush for an incredibly long time. Surprisingly, the Hoenn final evolutions did not get a re-release or a re-design into Pokemon Dolls during X&Y and ORAS. They also have no UFO plush, so they were some of the most elusive starter Pokemon to find plush for prior to 2019. |
Poseable Pokemon Center Sceptile plush
2019 USA Obtained from PokemonCenter.com My favorite Sceptile plush along with the Pokedoll (though, there's not many to pick from). It's a wonderfully large lizard! The one thing that is a little odd is that the feet collapse a bit due to the pattern structure, and it seems like there is a short armature in the leg, but the legs are so short that it doesn't seem to do much. However, the arms pose well. |
Mega Sceptile Pokemon Center plush
2013 Unkown Obtained from SilvallyZel in a secret swap! Mega Sceptile's second plush; it's also a little strange like the Blaziken counterpart. Pokemon Center seems to have been transitioning into a different type of product design at the time which unfortunately suffers from a quality drop. The crests, chest leaves, leaf blades, and tail are all flat and one dimensional pieces of fabric that have a much rougher textured feel compared to the rest of the plush. The fabric crests are soft like the body, but they are floppy and don't stand up like they should (compared to the Tomy shown previously). |
